snapdock
by Mike-Acb
SnapDock is a small menu bar app for Apple Silicon Macs that launches or switches to apps using keyboard shortcuts. Pinned Dock apps get Option+1 to Option+0 automatically, and you can add your own shortcuts for other apps.

Our suggestion based on what it does, not a feature-by-feature comparison.
Ways a business could use it
- Cut time lost to mouse and Dock clicking by jumping between email, browser, invoicing and chat apps with one keystroke
- Set up a consistent shortcut layout on every Mac in a small team without paying for a launcher licence
Can you use it commercially?
Free to use, change and sell, including in paid products. Keep the copyright notice.
Not legal advice. Read the project's licence file before building a product on it.
Getting it running
Download the DMG from Releases and drag it to Applications, or build it with the included scripts; the app is not notarised, so you must approve the first launch in System Settings.
Follow the official instructions in the project README.
Things to check
- Apple Silicon only, and needs macOS 13 or later
- Releases are ad-hoc signed and not notarised, so macOS blocks the first launch
- Building from source needs the macOS 26 SDK
- Fairly new project with a modest following
